Securing leadership phones on business travel

Customs, hotels, trade shows: when traveling, a phone sometimes leaves its user’s sight. Shindan looks for indicators of compromise in minutes, without accessing the content of their messages or their photos.

Context

ANSSI, France’s national cybersecurity agency, recommends never leaving equipment unattended while traveling and, on return, having it checked by your security officer if its integrity is in doubt [1, pp. 16-17 and 26-27]. CERT-FR reports a case in which phones were allegedly confiscated and then compromised near police stations and border posts, and advises switching your phone off completely when you have to part with it [2, p. 13].
